More than 2 dozen companies named in asbestos suit, Provost Umphrey handling case

BEAUMONT – More than two dozen companies have been named in an asbestos lawsuit being handled by the Provost Umphrey Law Firm.

Representing the estate of Larry Granger, Judy Granger filed the suit Oct. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

Some of the defendants named in the suit include A.W. Chesterton, Ametek, DuPont, ExxonMobil, Foster Wheeler, General Electric and Zurn Industries.

According to the lawsuit, Larry worked as a pipefitter and was required to work with asbestos products.

The defendants are accused of manufacturing and/or selling dangerous and defective asbestos products, causing injuries to the decedent.

The plaintiff is suing for exemplary damages.

The plaintiff is represented by PU attorney Collin Moore.

Judge Baylor Wortham, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
