MARSHALL — A woman who suffered an injury to her shoulder after she alleges an elevator door at the Embassy Suites by Hilton and Convention Center in Denton unexpectantly closed and shoved her to the floor, is claiming the hotel's negligence.

Pearl Davis, Thomas Davis and Janice Scoles filed a complaint  Nov. 5 in the Marshall Division for the Eastern District of Texas against Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc, Hilton Franchise Holding LLC, Hilton Domestic Operating Company Inc, O'Reilly Hospitality Management LLC, Kone Inc and Park Hotels & Resorts Inc. alleging strict products liability and gross negligence.

Davis was attending a Take Off Pounds Sensibly Texas State Recognition Days convention at the hotel on April 21, 2018. She claims in her suit that while entering the third floor elevator, the door began to close without warning on her right shoulder which caused her to fall to the floor. She suffered a broken femur and required hospitalization and rehab. Davis alleges the elevator was in "NUD L or nudging mode" and was improperly operating.

Davis seeks monetary relief over $75,000, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief.
