Cenikor Foundation accused of not paying minimum wage, overtime

HOUSTON— An employee of the Cenikor Foundation, which provides products and services to drug, alcohol addiction and behavioral health facilities, alleges he and others were not paid the minimum wage or overtime compensation. 

Anthony Woods, individually and for allothers similarly situated, filed a complaint Nov. 21 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Cenikor Foundation, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Texas Minimum Wage Act. 

According to the complaint, Cenikor was paid by different companies for his work such as operating forklifts and loading and unloading equipment but Woods and others did not receive any compensation. The plaintiff also alleges he and other Cenikor employees were not paid for occasional work over 40 hours per week including between November 2018 through December 2018, and in January 2019 through August 2019, when traveling to perform job duties, a violation of the FLSA. 

Woods seeks all unpaid overtime, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Joshua West and Josh Standford of The Sanford Law Firm PLLC in Little Rock, Arkansas.
