HOUSTON — Allied Wireline Services faces a suit from a former technician who alleges he and other technicians were not compensated for their overtime work.
Jeffrey Basler, individually and for others similarly situated, filed a class action complaint Nov. 19 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Allied Wireline Services LLC doing business as Allied-Horizontal Wireline Services, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
According to the complaint, Basler served as a wireline technician for Allied from Jan. 30, 2015, through Aug. 8, 2019. He alleges he and other Allied employees regularly worked more than 40 hours per week and were paid the same base salary without being compensated for overtime as required by FLSA.
The lawsuit states that despite facing similar FLSA violation lawsuits, Allied continues to misclassify its wireline technicians as exempt to avoid paying them for overtime.
Basler seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just and equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Josef Buenker of The Buenker Law Firm in Houston.
