HOUSTON — A former Murphy Oil employee who suffered burns from a high-pressure gas compressor alleges the company responsible for the equipment's monitoring is negligent.

Joseph Cruz filed a complaint  Nov. 26 in the Harris County District Court against Archrock Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 2. 2018, Cruz was working for Murphy Oil at the company's Jambers West location in Tilden when he suffered "flash fire burns" that came from the explosion of a high-pressure gas compressor.
