Man electrocuted while working on Will Rogers pad in Permian Basin claims employer's negligence

HOUSTON — A Woods Group employee who was electrocuted while working on Noble Energy's Will Rogers pad in the Permian Basin is claiming his employer's negligence. 

Cody Murray filed a complaint Jan. 3 in the Harris County District Court against Woods Group PSN Inc., alleging negligence. 

Murray was working for Woods on March 15, 2019 to install an electric submersible pump on a rig on the Noble Energy's Will Rogers pad in the Permian Basin. While performing the work, Murray was electrocuted and alleges the accident was the result  of a Woods Group employee or agent improperly connecting a megohmmeter to an electrical line. Murray suffered injuries including neurological damage. 

Murray seeks monetary relief in excess of $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Paul Gold and Donna Aversano of Aversano & Gold in Houston and Laura Caveretta and William Leighner of Caveretta, Katona & Leighner PLLC in San Antonio.
