HOUSTON — A design contractor is facing a suit filed by a former client who is claiming breach of contract.

Matine Keo filed a complaint Jan. 30 in the Harris County District Court against Jill Abel doing business as Jill Abel Designs alleging breach of contract, breach of duties, fraud, negligence, violation of the Deceptive Trade Practice Consumer Protection Act and unjust enrichment.

Keo entered into a $54,796 contract with Abel on March 30, 2019 for remodeling/design services for a property in Nassau Bay. Keo alleges that Abel was paid $43,201.80 but has "not properly performed" the contracted work including incorrectly measuring of the flooring and unfinished painting and tile work. Keo also claims Abel falsely told third parties plaintiff was in default of their contract.

Keo seeks monetary relief of over $100,000, interest and all other just relief. The plaintiff is represented by Christoper Conry of Contry Law PLLC in Katy.
