McGuireWoods LLP issued the following announcement on May 18.
Yasser Madriz, an accomplished trial lawyer with deep experience in the Texas legal market, has been appointed managing partner of McGuireWoods’ Houston office.
Madriz handles energy litigation, technology and intellectual property disputes, and trade secret theft and unfair competition claims. He leverages his skill as a former deal lawyer to advise international companies in transaction-based controversies, business organization disputes and derivative suits. Madriz also represents Latin American clients in domestic and international litigation.
Madriz joined McGuireWoods in 2018 and previously practiced for 16 years at an Am Law 100 firm in Houston. He has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation and was a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s fellows program in 2012.
“Yasser is an outstanding lawyer and community-minded leader who will do an excellent job managing our Houston office,” said J. Tracy Walker IV, McGuireWoods’ managing partner.
“I am humbled to have the opportunity to take on this new role and look forward to working with my colleagues to build on our positive momentum and expand our Texas presence,” Madriz added.
