Thompson Coburn LLP issued the following announcement on July 28.

Thompson Coburn is proud to welcome three new members to its Management Committee in 2020: D.C. partner Adrienne Clair, Chicago partner Rob Lang and Dallas managing partner Nicole Williams.

Adrienne represents clients in electric and natural gas pipeline matters, and counsels on compliance and enforcement. She represents primarily cooperative and municipal utilities in applications, litigation and rulemaking proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regarding regional transmission organization (RTO) markets for energy and capacity, transmission planning and cost allocation, related transactions and proceedings involving natural gas pipeline rates and services. She also counsels clients in FERC enforcement actions and audits of existing compliance programs.

Adrienne has litigated numerous proceedings before FERC, including electric cooperative wholesale power contract and rate design issues, reactive power revenue requirements, mergers, transmission formula rate and cost recovery matters. She assists clients in obtaining market-based rate authority and complying with related reporting requirements.

Adrienne earned her law degree from the George Washington University and her B.A. from Hampton University.

Rob is a commercial litigator who focuses on preventing and resolving "business divorces" and representing clients in complex contract disputes across various industries, including real estate, manufacturing (including food), health care, professional services, sports, transportation, and energy. Rob is experienced in the complex intersection of litigation, corporate, employment, and trusts and estates.

Rob is a board and executive committee member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities chapter for Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. He has led pro bono work on behalf of Marklund, which provides care for people with severe developmental disabilities in suburban Chicago. Rob is also a founding director of Fight for Chicago, a charity that provides boxing training and mentoring to disadvantaged Chicago youths.

Rob earned his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Nicole, a founding member of Thompson Coburn’s Dallas office, is a trial lawyer who represents clients in matters involving antitrust, advertising, fraud investigations and litigation, and class actions. Nicole also counsels clients on antitrust issues related to product distribution agreements, joint ventures, contractual arrangements, membership requirements for organizations, and mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, she counsels food, beverage and consumer product companies regarding existing or proposed advertising materials, including product packaging and labeling and distribution materials.

Nicole has represented clients in investigative proceedings by the Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, Texas Attorney General and National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau.

She has held leadership positions in the antitrust sections of nearly every national and regional bar association, including the ABA, the Federal Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas.

Nicole earned her law degree from Duke University and her B.S. from Auburn University.
