HOUSTON — A former Memorial Hermann Greater Heights employee claims the hospital's negligence led her to suffer a severe injury while trying to transfer a patient to a wheelchair.

Sarah Gonzalez filed a complaint March 3 in Harris County District Court against Memorial Hermann Health System doing business as Memorial Hermann Greater Heights alleging negligence.

According to her complaint, Gonzalez was employed by Memorial Hermann Greater Heights on May 5, 2019, when she suffered injuries while transferring a patient to a wheelchair. She alleges that Memorial Hermann Greater Heights is negligence for failing to properly instruct and provide training to its employees.

Gonzalez also claims the hospital was negligent for not providing her with "adequate assistance," maintaining a safe workplace and for failing to supervise its employees. She further claims she has suffered "severe" pain, mental anguish, physical impairment and other medical issues as well as incurred medical expenses due to her on the job injuries.

Gonzalez seeks monetary relief of between $200,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Sofia The Bruera of Bruera Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
