HOUSTON — A man alleges he was fired over allegations of harassment of a female coworker without a proper investigation and was discriminated against due to his age.

Michael Roberson filed a complaint March 3 in Harris County District Court against JVIC alleging age discrimination.

Roberson was employed as a foreman at JVIC's Pasadena location for seven to eight years, according to his complaint. He claims that on Jan. 29, 2019, while working with a "young, female" employee on a project at Exxon Mobil on Jan. 29, 2019, she claimed she was not feeling well and that he arranged to have her picked up and taken to the clinic at Exxon.

Roberson further claims that once at the clinic, the female employee reported that he was "either harassing her or her cousin" and that he was kept in the office and then sent home without being provided any details of the allegations against him. Roberson also claims the accusers were given the opportunity to meet with the human resources manager and that he was not given any opportunity to respond or provide a statement regarding the allegations against him. He alleges that when he was fired on Feb. 5, 2019, and was only told his termination was for "conduct reasons."

Roberson also alleges he was replaced by a younger female.

Roberson seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Attorney David Manley in Houston.
