HOUSTON — A woman claims she slipped on a liquid left on the floor by an employee at a Houston Dollar General and suffered serious injuries.

Stormi Hardy filed a complaint March 27 in Harris County District Court against Family Dollar Stores of Texas LLC alleging premises liability.

Hardy claims in her suit that while shopping at the Dollar General on Cullen Boulevard in Houston on July 11, 2020, she slipped and fell on a "liquid substance" that was left on the floor by an employee. She alleges that she was looking at merchandise and "making sure not to run into other customers or product displays" and did not notice the liquid on the floor.

Hardy alleges that there were no warning signs posted in the area and that "at least one" of the Dollar Store employees was aware of the "dangerous condition" on the floor and that it was "obvious an employee had left it there." She claims as a result of her fall, she suffered "numerous and serious" injuries as well as mental anguish, lost wages and has incurred medical treatment expenses.

Hardy seeks monetary relief of $74,999 or less, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by John Papapavlou and Porya Mostaghimi of The PM Law Firm in Humble.
