HOUSTON — A man is suing the owners of his Houston apartment complex alleging he suffered severe injuries due to a defective floor.

Vincent Laday filed a complaint April 5 in Harris County District Court against Lyons Village and Lyons Village LLC alleging negligence.

Laday was a resident of the defendants' Lyons Village apartment complex located in Houston, according to his suit. He alleges that on April 21, 2019, he suffered "severe" bodily injuries and bruises due to a "dangerous condition on the floor" of the apartment complex premises.

Laday claims as a result of his injuries he has also suffered disfigurement, incurred medical treatment expenses as well as physical impairment and mental anguish. He alleges the defendants were negligent for failing to inspect the apartment complex premises to ensure its safety for residents and also failed to properly maintain the apartment complex and address specifically a "defective floor." Laday also alleges the defendants failed to warn residents of the defective floor.

Laday seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $250,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Attorney Christopher Bradshaw-Hull in Houston.
