HOUSTON — A Houston law firm is suing a contractor and flooring subcontractor claiming numerous deficiencies in the construction of their new offices, including uneven flooring and defective electrical circuits.

Jason Gibson and Jason A. Gibson PC doing business as The Gibson Law Firm filed a complaint April 19 in Harris County District Court against Dunhill Development & Construction LLC and Gulfcoast Flooring & Services LLC alleging breach contract, misappropriation of construction trust funds, fraud and breach of express warranty and breach of implied warranty.

The plaintiffs claim that on Sept. 28, 2018, they contracted with Dunhill for the management and "complete construction" of their new law firm office on Kirby Drive in Houston. The plaintiffs allege that "within the first few days and months after construction," they discovered the floors and other structures were not level, the flooring moisture protection was inadequate, the flooring was discolored and bubbled, the doors would not open properly and that the electrical circuits did not work properly.

The plaintiffs also allege they "made various representations" to the defendants about the repairs and defects but repairs were never made. In addition, the plaintiffs claim the defendants failed to pay subcontractors and failed to "peform under their contract."

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Jason Gibson and Casey Gibson of The Gibson Law Firm in Houston.
