HOUSTON — A Houston area McDonalds is facing a suit after a customer fell on slippery, wet floor and suffered injuries.

Lovelance Sagay filed a complaint May 11 in Harris County District Court against H.K. Smith Management Inc., doing business as McDonalds and McDonalds alleging premises liability.

According to the suit, the plaintiff was at the McDonalds on West Sam Houston Parkway in Houston on May 16, 2019, and slipped and fell on a "slippery substance" that was on the floor of the restaurant. The plaintiff alleges that there were no warning signs posted about the dangerous condition and that the fall resulted in serious and permanent injuries.

The plaintiff claims the defendants knew or should have known that customers walking through the restaurant faced an unreasonably dangerous condition due to the wet and slippery floor. The plaintiff further claims McDonalds failed to properly clean and dry the floor of the restaurant and to properly inspect and maintain the floor.

Sagay seeks monetary relief of less than $250,000, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief and is represented by Katherine James and John Hallman of The James Law Firm in The Woodlands.
