HOUSTON — AT&T Texas claims a contractor who was installing street signals in Spring caused more than $25,000 in damage to its underground fiber optic cable.

Southerwestern Bell Telephone Company, doing business as AT&T Texas, filed a complaint  May 24 in Harris Count District Court against Third Coast Services LLC alleging negligence and trespass.

AT&T Texas alleges in its complaint that on May 28, 2019, Third Coast damaged one of AT&T's cables "while using an auger to install street signals" on Spring Cypress Road in Spring. AT&T claims Third Coast was negligent for failing to use reasonable care to avoid damaging the underground cable and that Third Coast's action constitutes trespass. AT&T alleges that repair and loss of use of its fiber optic cable caused damages in the amount of at least $25,198.84.

AT&T seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Christopher McKinney of Orgain Bell & Tucker LLP in Houston.
