HOUSTON — A woman is suing her physician claiming his negligent medical care led to her stage II lung cancer.

Linda Tschoepe and James Tschoepe filed a complaint June 16 in Harris County District Court against Mohammed A. Quraishi, M.D., alleging negligence.

According to the plaintiffs' complaint, Linda Tschoepe was diagnosed with lung cancer in November of 1986, breast cancer in 1987 and in 2000. They allege that during her follow-up cancer care, she began to have unexplained weight loss and in July of 2019, was found to have further cancer in her lungs and in June of 2020, was diagnosed with stage II lung cancer.

They claim Quraishi, a medical oncologist and internist, failed to investigate her weight loss including doing testing and failed to do what a physician with his specialities "would have done in the same or similar circumstances."

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Charles Houssiere, III and Randal Kauffman of Houssiere Durant & Houssiere LLP in Houston.
