Holland & Knight issued the following announcement on June 23.
Corporate, M&A and Securities Partner David Allen has joined Holland & Knight's Dallas office. He advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and general corporate matters. Mr. Allen was formerly the managing partner of Troutman Pepper's Orange County, California, office.
"David's arrival represents an excellent opportunity to expand our corporate M&A practice in Dallas, and his experience in life sciences is extremely valuable to clients," said Stephen Dietrich, leader of the firm's corporate practice in the Central and West Region. "David also has proven leadership and practice-building skills that will be put to good use in the Texas market."
Mr. Allen represents acquirers, targets, financial advisors and special committees in a wide variety of transactions involving both private and public companies. Mr. Allen also represents issuers, underwriters, investors and placement agents in a broad range of securities law matters that include public offerings and private placements of debt, equity and convertible securities. He counsels clients in the medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, real estate, semiconductor, technology, hotel and gaming industries, among others.

Mr. Allen earned a J.D. degree from Yale Law School and a B.A. degree from Yale University.
