HOUSTON — A woman is suing Office Depot after allegedly slipping and falling on a rubber substance at one of their Houston stores.

Adriene Miles filed a complaint July 1 in Harris County District Court against Office Depot LLC alleging premises liability and negligence.

Miles was at the Office Depot store on Highway 45 North in Houston on June 3, 2021, according to her suit. She alleges that as she walked through the store, she slipped and fell on "a black rubber substance" on the floor and suffered physical impairment, disfigurement and lost wages as a result of her injuries. Miles also alleges she has incurred medical expenses as a result of the accident and claims Office Depot failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

She claims in her suit that Office Depot also failed to inspect or correct the dangerous condition and did not provide warning of the hazard.

Miles seeks, monetary relief of no more than $75,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Jordan James of The Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
