HOUSTON — A man claims he suffered severe and excruciating injuries as a result of a slip and fall at Kingwood Mexican restaurant.

William Noel Shrum filed a complaint July 19 in Harris County District Court against Los Cucos Mexican Cafe Inc., alleging negligence and premies liability.

Shrum was at the Los Cucos Mexican Cafe on Highway 59 North in Kingwood on Dec. 23, 2020, according to his suit. He claims that there was "a liquid substance on the floor" which caused him to slip and fall with "tremendous force."

Shrum alleges he suffered "severe and excruciating and painful debilitating" injuries as a result of his fall and incurred medical care costs and other out of pocket economic losses. He futher alleges that the defendants failed to construct their floor surface with non-slip materials, and failed to clean the floor in a timely manner. Shrum claims the defendants also failed to warn of the dangerous condition or train their employees to properly manage the premises.

Shrum seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Matthew Stano and Frank Sedita of The Stano Law Firm in Humble.
