HOUSTON — The family of a worker killed at a well site owned by Crisco Operating when an oil rig fell on him is claiming the company's negligence.

Crystal Wright, individually and as heir at law of Charles Wright, deceased and Krystal Lenox as next friend of G.W., a minor child filed a complaint July 23 in Harris County District Court against Crisco Operating LLC alleging negligence.

According to the plaintiff's suit, Charles Wright was working at Crisco Operating's well site near Humble on July 21, 2021, when he was killed by a falling oil rig. The plaintiffs are seeking a temporary restraining order against Crisco in order for inspection and documentation to be done at the premises and inspection of all equipment and devices as well as inspection of the oil rig that caused Wright's fatal accident, according to the complaint.

They allege Crisco should be prevented from "altering, modifying, cleaning, or in anyway changing the condition of the premises and equipment."

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. They are represented by Mark Collmer and Conrad Guthrie of The Collmer Law Group in Houston.
