HOUSTON — A tenant is alleging her apartment complex owners failed to properly fix a water leak that caused her slip and fall and suffer serious injuries.

Castrisha Mikle filed a complaint July 22 in Harris County District Court against National Community Renaissance of California doing business as Countryside Village and Allied Orion Group LLC alleging negligence.

The plaintiff was a resident at the defendant's apartment complex on International Village Drive in Humble, according to the suit. She alleges that on Sept. 9, 2020, she slipped in water that leaked from the wall and had pooled in the hallway and suffered injuries including disability and impairment and incurred medical expenses.

Mikle claims that during the six years she lived in the apartment complex, she submitted multiple maintenance requests to fix the water leak from the wall near her kitchen which eventually continued in to the hallway of the apartment.

She further claims the defendant's negligent attempts to fix the leak failed and that after her fall, a third party plumber was finally hired to find the source of the leak and properly inspected the AC unit in the attic.

Mikle seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Andrew Bivona of Bivona Law PLLC in Houston.
