HOUSTON — A man is suing a Houston dental practice after suffering a blood infection and one of his implants becoming lodged in his sinus cavity.

George Lopez and Emily Lopez filed a complaint July 26 in Harris County District Court against Hanna Dental Implants LLP and Raouf Hanna, D.D.S., MS alleging negligence.

According to the plaintiffs' complaint, George Lopez received dental implants at Hanna Dental Implant Center on July 29, 2019. They allege that the implants were negligently placed in Lopez which resulted in his suffering "serious" injuries including an abscess and one of the implants being lodged in his sinus cavity.

The plaintiffs further allege that Lopez had to be admitted to the hospital for nine days due to a blood infection and that "death became a serious possibility." The plaintiffs claim the defendants failed to exercise ordinary care with his treatment which caused him to suffer pain, physical impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement and incur medical treatment expenses.

Lopez seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Randall Sorrels and Alexandra Farias-Sorrels of Sorrels Law in Houston.
