HOUSTON — A Houston area Target employee who slipped in the store and suffered injuries is claiming the company's negligence.

Tierra Taft filed a complaint Aug. 12 in Harris County District Court against Target Corporation alleging premises liability.

Taft was working at the Target store on Farm to Market 1960 Road West in Houston on Aug. 14, 2019, according to her complaint. She alleges that as she was walking, she slipped and fell on her knee and suffered injuries including impairment, disfigurement, anxiety and has incurred medical costs. Taft claims Target was negligent for failing to monitor the condition of the store's floor, failing to clean the floor or to properly train its employees. She also claims Target failed to warn of the dangerous condition which posed an unreasonable risk of harm.

Taft seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Husein Hadi, Jamil Thomas, Carnegie Mims, III, Sedrick Stagg, Seve Thomas and Ariana Mehdipour of The Hadi Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
