HOUSTON — A man who slipped on wet paint as he was walking down the stairs of a Houston apartment complex and suffered injuries is claiming negligence.

Raoul Navarro filed a complaint Aug. 17 in Harris County District Court against Montierra Apartments also known as Montierra Houston Apartments GP LLC and others alleging premises liability.

Navarro alleges in his suit that he was walking down the stairs at the Montierra Apartments on Sage Road in Houston on Sept. 17, 2019. He claims he slipped on wet paint on the floor and suffered serious injuries.

He alleges that the defendants, who manage, maintain, occupy and control the apartment complex, were negligent for failing to monitor the condition of the floor. Navarro also alleges the defendants failed to "promptly" clean the floor, properly train its employees or warn of the dangerous condition.

He claims that as a result of his injuries, he has suffered physical pain, mental anguish, impairment, disfigurement and incurred medical treatment expenses for doctors, medicines and other services and supplies.

Navarro seeks monetary relief of less than $75,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Husein Hadi, Jamil Thomas, Carnegie Mims, III, Sedrick Stagg, Seve Thomas and Ariana Mehdipour of The Hadi Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
