HOUSTON — A woman is claiming negligence after slipping on a wet substance on the floor of a restaurant in Humble and suffering injuries.

Joyce Williams filed a complaint Aug. 24 in Harris County District Court against Pappas Restaurants Inc., doing business as Pappasito's Cantina alleging negligence.

Williams was at the Pappasito's Cantina on FM 1960 in Humble on Aug. 25, 2019, according to her complaint. She alleges that she suffered serious injuries after slipping and falling on "a substance" that was on the floor of the restaurant including pain, impairment, mental anguish as well as incurred medical bills.

Williams claims the defendant's negligence for allowing the dangerous condition on the floor, failing to warn of the hazard and failing to inspect its premises. She also claims Pappasito's Cantina failed to correct the dangerous condition which they knew or should have been aware of that would cause a hazard.

Williams seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Richard Presutti, Meredith Smith and Anthony Presutti of The Law Office of Richard J. Presutti PC in Houston.
