HOUSTON — A salon and spa in Spring is facing a negligence claim after a woman slipped and fell on a liquid substance while walking through the salon.

Megan Ruffin filed a complaint Aug. 23 in Harris County District Court against Dream Nail Spa LLC alleging negligence.

Ruffin, according to her complaint, was at the Dream Nail Spa on Stuebner Airline Road in Spring on July 31, 2021. She alleges that she was following an employee through the salon when she slipped on a "liquid substance" that was on the floor. Ruffin claims as a result of her slip and fall, she suffered severe injuries including physical impairment, disfigurement as well as suffered lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

She alleges Dream Nail Spa's negligence for failing to maintain its floors and walkways in a reasonably safe condition, failing to inspect its premises and claims the salon failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

Ruffin seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Cheryl Bayley of The Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
