HOUSTON — A woman alleges a group of teenagers racing around a Houston roller skating rink, knocked her down and caused her to suffer serious injuries.

Evaline Anassi filed a complaint Sept. 7 in Harris County District Court against Dairy Ashford Roller Rink Inc., alleging premises liability and negligence.

Anassi was at the Dairy Ashford Roller Rink in Houston on Sept. 7, 2019. She claims that a group of teenagers were racing around the rink, despite posted signs that dissuaded racing and despite her complaint to management about the racing.

Anassi claims while she was skating with her nieces, a group of teenage boys raced passed her, pushed her and caused her to lose her balance and fall to the floor. She further claims her injuries were so severe that she had to be immediately transported to a hospital and suffered injury to her lower back, a broken ankle, required surgery, months of physical therapy and the inability to walk for several months in addition to anxiety and depression.

Anassi alleges the defendant's employees failed to enforce the rules against racing in the rink which created a dangerous condition and failed to properly staff the facility.

Anassi seeks monetary relief of $500,000 or less, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Attorney Theresa Ford in Greenbelt, Maryland.
