Locke Lord adds experienced healthcare lawyer Jeff Wurzburg to Austin and Washington D.C. offices

Jeff Wurzburg, a well-known and respected health care lawyer previously with the HHS Office of the General Counsel, has joined Locke Lord in the Austin and Washington, D.C., offices, a press release states.

Prior to entering private practice, Jeff served as an attorney in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) OGC in Washington, D.C., where he advised the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation on a wide range of issues that included Affordable Care Act (ACA) regulations, guidance and litigation, and the development and testing of innovative health care payment and service delivery models. His experience makes him well suited to provide sophisticated counsel to clients on implementation, compliance matters and strategic opportunities related to the ACA and health care reform.

Jeff advises clients on complex regulatory, compliance, reimbursement and policy issues facing health plans and providers, with vast experience in Medicare, Medicaid and the ACA. He regularly counsels clients on federal health care program reimbursement, compliance, state and federal fraud and abuse laws, and government investigations. Jeff provides regulatory counseling related to significant health care transactions and litigation. He monitors federal and state health care legislation and rulemaking, and communicates policy developments to a diverse range of clients that are relevant to their operations.

An incredibly active member of his community, Wurzburg has served on several boards and committees. He was recently was elected Fellow to the San Antonio Bar Foundation, serves as the Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan's Wonderland. Jeff serves as a Vice Chair of Educational Programming for the American Health Law Association (AHLA) Payers, Plans, and Managed Care Practice Group. He is a Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Health (ABA) Law Section Health Reform Task Force, Vice Chair of the Managed Care Interest Group and Co-Chair of the Washington Health Law Summit. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas Health Law Section Council.

Wurzburg is a thought leader in the healthcare field, frequently writing and speaking on various healthcare-related topics.
