HOUSTON — A woman is claiming negligence against a nail salon and spa in Humble after a chair she was sitting in collapsed.
Karen Seward filed a complaint Sept. 14 in Harris County District Court against Apple Nails 'N Spa Inc., alleging negligence.
Seward alleges in her complaint that she was at Apple Nails 'N Spa located on North Sam Houston Parkway in Humble on Aug. 5, 2021. She claims that while sitting in a chair, the chair collapsed and caused her to suffer severe injuries including impairment and disfigurement.
Seward also claims she suffered lost wages and incurred medical expenses as a result of the accident. She alleges the defendant's negligence for failing to maintain its premises, including the furniture on the premises, in a reasonably safe condition. She also alleges the defendant failed to inspect its premises and correct the dangerous condition or warn of the hazard in the salon.
Seward seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief.
