HOUSTON — A woman who fell on a just mopped floor in a restroom area at a Jack In The Box and suffered injuries is claiming negligence.

Linda Landry-Lemelle filed a complaint Sept. 12 in Harris County District Court against Jack In The Box Inc., Ibrahim Investment Corporation, Ashish Ventures LLC and Michael Akinkugbe and Jessica Albor alleging premises liability and negligence.

The plaintiff claims she was a customer at the Jack In The Box section of the defendants' store in Missouri City on May 5, 2020. She alleges that while in the restroom, one of the employees began to mop the floor outside the restroom area which caused her to slip and fall as she exited the restroom.

The plaintiff claims there were no warning signs to alert of the slippery and wet floor and that the defendants negligently maintained the walking area and allowed the surface to remain slippery. She further claims the defendants failed to properly hire and supervise its employees or to have written procedures for cleaning and maintaining the area which caused her to suffer injuries.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Chelsea Murfree and Adam Ramji of The Ramji Law Group in Houston.
