HOUSTON — A man alleges a Houston auto dealer misrepresented the damage and repair condition of the Jeep he purchased and lied about the car's history.

Aqerra Hawkins filed a complaint Sept. 24 in Harris County District Court against Houston Titans Auto LLC doing business as Houston Elite Motors and John Doe Surety alleging violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, negligent misrepresentation and other claims.

According to his complaint, Hawkins purchased a 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport from the defendants on Sept. 24, 2019. He claims the defendants misrepresented the damage and repair condition of the Jeep including in written provisions regarding the condition, history and value of the car.

Hawkins further claims the defendants took advantage of his lack of knowledge, ability and experience to a "grossly unfair degree." He alleges that he is concerned about his safety and the safety of his family members who drive the vehicle and has suffered repair costs and diminished value of the vehicle.

Hawkins seeks monetary relief of less than $100,00, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Vincent Renda of The Renda Law Offices PC in San Diego, California.
