HOUSTON — A woman is claiming negligence after slipping at Nordstrom's in Houston and severely injuring her shoulder.

Gloria Kuntz and Lyle Kuntz filed a complaint Sept. 27 in Harris County District Court against Nordstrom Inc., alleging negligence.

Kuntz was at the Nordstrom's on Hidalgo Street in Houston on Dec. 6, 2019. She alleges that she slipped on the floor which caused her to lose her footing and her feet to slip out from under her as she fell.

Kuntz claims as a result of the fall, she suffered injuries to her shoulder which required surgery and rehab as well as injuries to her hand, head and other parts of her body. She alleges that the defendant was negligent for failing to provide a safe, level floor on its premises, failing to inspect the flooring for a dangerous condition and failing to warn of the hazard.

Kuntz also alleges Nordstrom's created the hazard by placing a rug on the floor in a position where it would cause a danger.

Kuntz seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Steven Engelhardt of Engelhardt Law PLLC in Houston.
