Pearland business faces suit after customer's foot falls through hole in parking lot

HOUSTON — A woman whose foot fell through a hole in the parking lot of a business in Pearland is claiming negligence. 

Vanessa Olloque filed a complaint Sept. 27 in Harris County District Court against Fuqua China King LLC alleging negligence. 

According to Olloque's complaint, she was walking through the parking lot of the defendant's property on Aug. 8, 2021. She claims that her foot fell into a hole which caused her to fall and suffer severe injuries. 

Olloque alleges the defendant's negligence for failing to maintain its premises including its roof, floor and walkways, failed to inspect its premises or warn of the dangerous condition. She further alleges that as a result of her fall, she suffered impairment, disfigurement, impairment, lost wages and incurred medical treatment expenses.  

Olloque seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Tyler Wilson of the Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
