HOUSTON — A woman who slipped on a wet substance at the Toyota Center in Houston while attending a concert is claiming liability.

Lakeasha Woodard filed complaint Oct. 3 in Harris County District Court against Clutch City Sports & Entertainment LP doing business as Toyota Center and Prtichard Sports & Entertainment Group LTD alleging liability.

Woodard was attending a concert at the Toyota Center on Polk Street in Houston on Oct. 6, 2019, according to her suit. She claims that she slipped and fell on a wet substance on the floor and suffered serious injuries.

Woodard alleges the defendants failed to properly inspect and maintain the flooring at the venue and did not keep the floor in a reasonably safe condition. She further alleges the defendants did not give warnings about the unsafe condition and failed to remove the substance from the floor in a reasonable time. Woodard claims as a result of her slip and fall, she incurred medical expenses, suffered mental anguish, physical impairment, disfigurement and lost earnings.

Woodard seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Bade Lawal of The Law Firm of Bade O Lawal PLLC in Houston.
