Greyhound passenger sues after bus driver rear ends vehicle

HOUSTON — A Greyhound passenger who suffered injuries when the bus rear ended a vehicle is claiming negligence. 

Kirk Singleton filed a complaint Oct. 14 in Harris County District Court against Greyhound Transportation LLC and John Doe alleging negligence. 

Singleton, according to his pro se complaint, was on a Greyhound Bus departing from Houston and heading to Lafayette, Louisiana on Oct. 16, 2019. He alleges that the bus driver rear ended the vehicle in front of the bus and that the impact caused him to suffer injuries from the sudden jerking of his head, neck and back and caused him to incur more than $30,000 in medical bills. 

He claims the driver, Doe's negligence for failing to maintain proper control of the bus, failing to keep a proper lookout, not yielding and for following the vehicle in front too closely. Singleton also claims Greyhound negligently hired and trained Doe. 

Singleton seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief.
