HOUSTON — An airline passenger who was dropped by Delta Airline employees while being transferred to a flight wheelchair is claiming negligence.
Tammie Galveston filed a complaint Oct. 27 in Harris County District Court against Delta Airlines Inc., Air Serv Corporation and John Doe.
Galveston was traveling on Delta Airlines on April 3, 2021, according to her suit. She alleges that as Delta Airline employees transferred her onto a flight by wheelchair, they dropped her and that the force of the impact caused her to suffer injuries including her requiring to have her right leg amputated.
Galveston alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to exercise ordinary care in hiring, failure to train and supervise its employees and for not exercising reasonable care. She also alleges that as a result of the accident, she suffered impairment, mental anguish and incurred costs for extensive medical treatment.
Galveston seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Sean Roberts and Anjali Sharma of Roberts Markland LLP in Houston.
