Woman trips over 'faulty display' at Adidas store, sues for $1M

HOUSTON — A woman claims she tripped over an improperly set up display at a Houston Adidas store and suffered injuries. 

Gladis Molina filed a complaint Nov. 1 in Harris County District Court against Adidas America Inc., Adidas Promotional Retail Operations Inc., Simon Property Group LP and John Doe alleging negligence. 

Molina, according to her complaint, was at the defendants' store "The Galleria" in Houston on Nov. 3, 2019. She alleges that as she walked through the store and tripped over a "faulty display" that was not set up properly, damaged and broken. 

Molina claims the defendants were negligent for failing to maintain their premises, failing to correct the dangerous conditions and for not warning of the hazard. She further claims the defendants failed to properly train their employees and implement and enforce proper polices and safety measures. Molina also claims that as a result of her fall, she suffered injuries including pain, impairment, mental anguish and incurred medical treatment expenses. 

Molina seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Brett Turnbull of Turnbull Holcomb & Lemoine PC in Birmingham, Alabama.
