HOUSTON — Walgreens is facing a negligence claim after a customer tripped over signage outside of one of their stores in Houston.

Ranae Black filed a complaint Nov. 15 in Harris County District Court against Walgreen Co., alleging negligence.

Black, according to her suit, was at the Walgreens on FM 1960 Road in Houston on Oct. 27, 2021. She alleges that as she was walking outside the store, she tripped and fell on signage for the store that was on the ground and suffered injuries including to her back, knee and other parts of her body.

Black claims Walgreen's negligence for failing to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition, failed to inspect its premises and failed to correct the condition in order to safeguard those who came on their premises. She also claims Walgreens failed to warn of the hazard and that they knew or should have known of the unreasonably dangerous condition.

Black seeks monetary relief of less than $75,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Jordan James of The Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
