HOUSTON — A worker at an oil and gas property is claiming negligence after suffering injuries during an explosion and flash fire near a well.

Cody Tredaway filed a complaint Dec. 7 in Harris County District Court against Limerock Resources Operating Company Inc., Rosehill Operating Company LLC and YellowJacket Oilfield Services LLC alleging negligence and gross negligence.

According to his complaint, on July 12, 2021, Tredaway was working at the Kyle 26 A001 in Mentone which is owned by the defendants. He alleges that he suffered severe injuries after an explosion and flash fire near a well.

Tredaway alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to properly train their employees and contractors, failing to provide a safe workplace and failing to inspect and maintain its equipment. Tredaway also claims the defendants failed to warn of an unreasonably dangerous condition and that their actions led to his substantial risk of severe bodily injury.

He alleges as a result of the accident he suffered loss of earning capacity, disfigurement, impairment, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

Tredaway seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Ryan Zehl, Matthew Greenberg and Michael Sterich of Zehl & Associates PC in Houston.
