HOUSTON — A man who was stabbed by an intoxicated patron in the restroom of a Houston night club is claiming Dram Shop liability.

Bryan Soreano filed a complaint Dec. 23 in Harris County District Court against Calenos Ventures Inc., LLC doing business as Rumba Club alleging negligence and other claims.

Soreano alleges in his suit that while at the Rumba Club on Oct. 24, 2021, he was stabbed by another patron in the restroom. He claims Rumba Club's negligence for failing to monitor its guests, failing to implement safety measures to prevent assaults and failed to properly train its employees.

He also claims Dram Shop liability against Rumba Club for serving alcohol to an intoxicated patron and alleges the club failed to warn of the dangerous condition or have adequate security on its premises.

Soreano claims he suffered physical pain, impairment, disfigurement and incurred medical care and treatment costs as a result of the incident as well as loss of earnings.

Soreano seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Paul Higdon and Christopher Bertini of Higdon Lawyers in Bellaire.
