HOUSTON — A customer who slipped and fell at a Houston International House of Pancakes is claiming negligence.

Imran Husain filed a complaint Jan. 7 in Harris County District Court against International House of Pancakes LLC alleging negligence.

Husain was at the International House of Pancakes on South Texas 6 in Houston on Dec. 9, 2021, according to the complaint. Husain alleges that there was water on the ground which caused him to slip and fall and suffer "severe" bodily injuries.

Husain claims the restaurant's negligence for failing to maintain its premises, particularly the floors and walkways, failing to inspect the restaurant and failing to inform him of the dangerous condition. He also claims International House of Pancakes knew or should have known the hazard existed and failed to correct the condition which caused him to suffer physical impairment, disfigurement, lost wages and incur medical treatment expenses.

Husain seeks monetary relief between $250,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Jonathan Webster of The Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
