Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes real estate attorney Emma R. Keyser as Shareholder in the firm’s Houston office. Keyser joins Polsinelli’s nationally renowned Real Estate Practice as the firm expands its real estate roster in Texas to meet the growing need.

"We’re pleased to welcome Emma to the Texas team, where she’ll get to work closely with several top leaders in our Real Estate and Financial Services Department," said Polsinelli Real Estate Practice Chair Amy Kiefer Hansen. “We continue to see increased demand for the services that our Real Estate Practice provides – throughout Texas and nationwide – and Emma brings a track record of success that will quickly benefit our clients.  Her ties to Denver and the Denver real estate community area are also an exciting addition.

A real estate attorney with a business perspective, Keyser has grown her career serving as corporate counsel at a leading development and property management company specializing in multifamily, retail and hospitality.

She advises prominent developers and equity investors in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, real estate development, corporate governance, debt and equity financing, 1031 exchanges, landlord/tenant issues, complex loan transactions, FHA/ADA compliance and leasing. She has also advised on general legal issues, including commercial contracts, employment agreements and confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.

“I’m eager to grow my practice and work closely with my esteemed new colleagues in Houston, throughout Texas and across the country,” said Keyser. “It’s a critical time to work in real estate – especially at Polsinelli – and I look forward to being part of the team’s growth as we help our clients navigate complex situations.”

Keyser has had success representing and advising clients on various aspects of commercial real estate matters, including acquisition, financing, leasing, development, and disposition of real estate portfolios and individual assets, including office, retail, hotel, restaurants, golf courses, ski resorts, medical, multi-family and vacant land. She represented and served as lead counsel for a large developer in connection with acquiring, financing, and developing a premier 3,000+ acre commercial civic center, retail and residential community in the Denver metro area.

Keyser earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin – Madison before obtaining a J.D. from University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law. Prior to joining Polsinelli, Keyser was at Snell & Wilmer LLP.  She started her career and spent a number of years at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck in Denver.

Polsinelli’s growing national Real Estate Practice welcomes Keyser to a deep bench of attorneys who provide the practical solutions clients value, as well as vast experience in areas that include transactions, financing structures and land use entitlements from acquisition and financing through development and leasing. The Practice continues to achieve a National Tier One ranking in Real Estate Law by U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 “Best Law Firms” list, and it was included in Legal 500’s prestigious 2021 rankings, along with the firms national Healthcare, Immigration and M&A: Middle Market practices.
