HOUSTON — A patient alleges her dentist improperly placed her implants which caused her to require additional procedures.

Rachel Ellis filed a complaint Feb. 6 in Harris County District Court against Tamaara Morris, DDS, MS, individually and doing business as Pure Periodontics and Implant Specialists and others alleging medical negligence.

Ellis, according to her suit, underwent implant surgery performed by Dr. Morris on Feb. 6, 2020. Specifically, Ellis claims she had removal of all of her top teeth with four implants and a "fixed-arch prothesis."

She alleges the implants failed almost immediately and that the implants were improperly placed which caused her to require additional dental procedures. Ellis claims the defendants' negligence for failing to properly perform the surgery, failing to use a proper technique when placing the implants and failure to properly counsel her on the procedure.

She further claims the defendants failed in their duty to exercise ordinary care and in providing a diagnosis, assessment, care and treatment.

Ellis seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Laura Bellegie Sharp and Lance Sharp of The Sharp Firm in Austin.
