DALLAS - The State Commission on Judicial Conduct has issued a public warning to Judge Gena Slaughter for failing on several occasions to timely file her campaign finance reports.
The commission issued the warning on Feb. 16, records show.
Judge Slaughter presides over the 191st Civil District Court in Dallas County.
According to the warning, the Texas Ethics Commission has a list of candidates and officeholders who are delinquent filers. As of July 27, 2021, Judge Slaughter was listed as a delinquent filer of her campaign finance reports and owed $8,200 in fines to TEC.
From January 2006 through July 2021, Judge Slaughter filed twelve campaign finance reports late, the report states.
According to the TEC, as of June 30, 2021, Judge Slaughter had been charged a total amount of $11,200 in penalty tines for the twelve late campaign finance reports, $6,105.07 of which she paid, but still owed $5,094.93 in fines. On Sept. 17, 2021, Judge Slaughter paid the remaining amount of $5,094.93 to the TEC.
