A man from west-central Texas claims he was injured on the job in New Mexico and has filed a lawsuit against his employer, according to Harris County District Court records

Karac Wolting is suing EOG Resources, Inc. (EOG) for injuries he reportedly sustained on January 1, 2022.

Wolting was reportedly working at an oil drilling site owned and managed by EOG near Jal, New Mexico.

According to the lawsuit, he was attempting to secure a drill collar when another employee improperly operated the machine, causing him to get crushed between the drill pipe and drill collar.

"Plaintiff screamed for help, but no one could hear him and there was inadequate lighting so Plaintiff could not be seen either," the lawsuit states.

Wolting reportedly suffered injuries to his back, neck, and head, and the lawsuit claims that he will most likely continue to experience physical pain as well as "extreme mental and emotional anguish" for the rest of his life.

His lawsuit argues that EOG was negligent by failing to create a safe working environment and in failing to adequately train its employees.

He seeks more than $1 million for damages related to these injuries, including past and future medical costs.
