HOUSTON — A healthcare worker alleges she faced sexual assault from a supervisor and retaliation for taking medical leave.

Danielle Dunbar filed a complaint April 18 in Harris County District Court against OneSource Employee Management LLC doing business as Zion Healthcare Inc., alleging retaliation, disability discrimination and other claims.

Dunbar has worked as Zion Healthcare's director of dietary since Jan. 22, 2020, according to her complaint. She alleges that due to the stress of working during the COVID 19 pandemic and the effect on her mental health, she requested one week time off. Dunbar claims that the HR Director failed to protect her HIPAA rights and openly discussed her medical condition with staff members.

She claims as a result, she faced mocking by the director of nursing and was perceived as weak for requesting time off for her mental health issues. Dunbar further claims in February of 2021, the newly hired administrative director made sexual advances and sexually assaulted her and that the HR director, who was having an affair with the administrative director, became jealous and retaliated against her with frivolous write-ups and accusations about her job performance. She claims the false claims will have a lasting impact on her ability to apply for medical positions in the future.

Dunbar seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $5 million, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Alfonso Kennard and Eddie Hodges, Jr.m of Kennard Law in Houston.
