Man alleges night club's security staff assaulted him

HOUSTON — A man alleges he was assaulted by a night club's security staff and suffered serious injuries. 

Juan Garcia filed a compliant  April 21 in Harris County District Court against Bliss, Los Socious doing business as Bliss, State Management Hospitality Group doing business as Bliss, Mike Pinzon and Katherine Levia alleging negligence, assault and other claims. 

Garcia alleges in his complaint that he and a friend were in the parking lot of the defendants' business on April 9, 2022 while waiting for their rides home. He claims a group of security guards employed by the defendants, began shouting at him and his friends to clear the area. 

Garcia further claims one of the bouncers shoved him and that he was "viciously" assaulted by the bouncers which caused him to suffer injuries to his face, eye and other parts of his body. He alleges the defendants' negligence for failing to keep their patrons safe from assault by their hired personnel, failing to properly train their employees and failing to do sufficient background checks. Garcia also alleges the defendants were negligent for failing to implement policies regarding excessive use of force. 

Garcia seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Wisam Ghuneim of The Ghuneim Law Firm in Pasadena.
