HOUSTON — Union Pacific is facing a negligence claim alleging one of its conductors fell on a walkway and suffered multiple injuries.

Michael Morrow filed a complaint April 21 in Harris County District Court against Union Pacific Railroad Company alleging negligence.

Morrow, according to his complaint, was working as a railroad conductor on a thru freight train from San Antonio to Houston on June 26, 2021. He alleges that he suffered injuries after falling while walking "on an unsafe surface." Specifically, he alleges he suffered injuries to his head, back, knee and other parts of his body.

Morrow claims Union Pacific's negligence for failing to follow safety and operating rules, failing to warn him of the danger and failing to properly install, inspect, test, repair and maintain the walkway. He also claims Union Pacific was negligent for failing to follow industry standards for the building, maintaining, repairing and inspecting the walkway. Morrow alleges as a result of his fall, he also suffered impairment, lost earnings, disfigurement and incurred medical treatment expenses.

Morrow seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Clint McGuire of Martinez & McGuire PLLC in Houston.
