HOUSTON — A man claims a company contracted by Home Depot failed to properly install his new washer and dryer which caused a water leak and damage to his home.

Cyrus Mahdavi filed a complaint April 25 in Harris County District Court against AJ Williams Transport LLC alleging negligence.

Mahdavi, according to his complaint, purchased a washer and dryer from Home Depot on March 3. He alleges that Home Depot had contracted with AJ Williams Transport to deliver and install the new appliances and that AJ failed to properly install the water line from the washer to the water valve. Mahdavi claims when he went to use the washer, the water line and valve leaked into his home and caused damage to his sheet rock and flooring.

He alleges the defendant's negligence for failing to properly install the washer and dryer, failing to properly install the water line and water valve to the washer and for not using the proper water line to fit the washer valve. Mahdavi further alleges the leak caused damage to his home's paint and trim.

Mahdavi seeks monetary relief of more than $10,000, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Attorney Terry McGovern in Houston.
